Abstract :
A novel antenna for broadside radiation with horizontally polarized omnidirectional pattern for WLAN applications is proposed in this paper. The antenna consists of two orthogonal U-shape metal strips serving as the main radiate part, the ground with cross H-shape slots and feeding network. The simulated -10-dB impedance bandwidth is 80MHz (2.4-2.48GHz) for the WLAN application. In this design, a horizontally polarized omnidirectional pattern with gain of 2.9dBi and the small gain variation (1.1dBi) is obtained.
