            Abstract : 
In this paper, the novel multiband segmented dual-aperture coupled annular microstrip patch antenna is used as the radiating element in a 2×2 router MIMO system. The radiating element has two aperture coupling slots and the annular ring is segmented. The resulting antenna and MIMO system have omnidirectional radiation patterns with good broadside coverage for four frequency bands (1.85, 3.5, 4.55 and 5.6 GHz) spanning 3:1 bandwidth. Polarization and pattern diversity are used to reduce correlation.
