Abstract :
The paper presents a new compact coplanar waveguide dual bandpass filter for wireless communications. The filter was designed based on the generalized composed left right hand metamaterial transmission line. The theoretical design steps have been explained and the filter performance has been examined using equivalent circuit modeling and electromagnetic full wave simulations. The results illustrate the dual passbands centered at 1.8 GHz and 3.1 GHz which are separated by a stopband with return loss better than -12 dB. Moreover the filter size is only (13.5 × 13.5 mm2) which is only less than 0.11 λg × 0.11 λg at the center frequency of the first passband and 0.2λg × 0.2λg at the center frequency of the second passband.
