Abstract :
This paper presents transient analysis of multiport waveguide structures using double higher-order time-domain finite element method (TDFEM). The general appropriateness of higher order spatial basis functions for the TDFEM analysis and their ability to accurately (and efficiently) capture the transient field response across large finite elements within the time-stepping solution in the TDFEM are discussed in great detail.
