Abstract :
A wideband cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna fed by a rounded bevel shaped patch and excited by a coplanar waveguide is proposed in this paper, which covers C band, X band and Ku band. The structure combines the resonances of dielectric resonator and the patch to obtain a wideband performance. The analysis of the structure is done in Ansoft High Frequency Structure Simulator. It is observed that the proposed structure achieves an impedance bandwidth of more than 163.6% covering frequency range from 2 GHz to 20 GHz. The average gain of the proposed antenna is 5.64 dB in the operating frequency band.
