Abstract :
In this paper we present a new technique for detecting Binary Frequency Shift Keying(BFSK) signal using an Orthogonal Decomposer. Present techniques for detecting BFSK signal either require the knowledge of mark and space frequencies or estimate them adaptively. The proposed method aims at detecting phase rate at the boundaries of frequency change and reconstructs the signal. In this method we don´t need to know mark and space frequencies. A sampled version of BFSK signal is passed through an Orthogonal Decomposer that estimates and tracks instantaneous phase of the incoming signal. These phase transitions are directly proportional to the frequency changes. Hence we can demodulate the transmitted BFSK signal. This method is a novel way of demodulation focusing on the phase transitions rather than finding the frequency. It will set a new trend in BFSK demodulation.
