Abstract
This paper presents an algorithm, based on the simplex method, to reconfigure distribution systems minimizing harmonics and power losses. The algorithm is implemented in LabView and calculates the power flow and the harmonics flow, then uses the simplex method to obtain the maximum current flow, in a second stage the data is saved for each configuration, and finally with all the data, the algorithm suggests the best configuration with less total harmonic distortion and less power losses.
