Abstract :
Direct optical coupling between a four-channel lens-integrated surface-emitting DFB array and a SMF array was demonstrated. A very narrow emission beam was produced by monolithic lens integration, and all four channels were thus simultaneously coupled to a SMF array with large tolerance of +/- 5.5μ m at excess loss of -1 dB.
