Abstract :
Long-period fiber gratings were fabricated by exposure with a low-pressure mercury lamp. The effects on the grating length were studied. The exposure time was reduced to 2/3 for a grating length of 30 mm compared with that of 20 mm. The temperature sensitivity was measured, and the sensing applications were discussed.
