Abstract :
An asymmetrical slit waveguide TE-TM mode converter is investigated for integrating with a Si waveguide optical isolator. We fabricated the mode converter of which structure is compatible with a Si Mach-Zehnder interferometer waveguide optical isolator. A TE-TM mode conversion of 89% was measured at a wavelength of 1.55 μm in the device with 8-μm-long slit.
