Abstract :
A wavelength-selective switch composed of microring resonators (MRRs) and Mach-Zehnder interferometer thermo-optic switches is demonstrated with an output on/off ratio of 9.7 dB for a selected wavelength channel. The degradation of the transmittance of WSS is addressed due to the difference in resonant wavelength between MRRs coupled to input and output bus lines.
