Abstract :
This paper presents the design of a sine wave inverter (SWI) for photovoltaic (PV) applications. A dc-dc forward converter, an inverter power circuit, a switching control circuit and an immittance converter comprise the entire inverter circuit. In addition, various parameters affecting the inverter behavior have been discussed in great detail. A T-LCLC immittance conversion circuit has been employed for filtering purposes in contrast to the conventional LC filter for the elimination of output harmonics. The performance of the T-LCLC immittance converter has also been compared with other filter topologies. It is observed that the T-LCLC immittance conversion circuit offers much improved performance while providing a stable output current.
