Abstract :
With continuing large-scale development of wind power, the mountainous area, which is relatively rich in wind power resource and complex in terrain, will be the focus of wind power development. As a result, how to evaluate the wind energy resource scientifically is important to the development of wind power in mountainous area. In order to harness the wind energy resource of Suichuan area in Jiangxi province reasonably, this paper utilizes wind speed statistics from 1999 to 2012, which are acquired from five meteorological stations around Suichuan area ,employs the interpolation function in ArcGIS statistical analysis module to obtain the wind speed distribution and the average wind power density distribution, and then compares the interpolated values with which acquired through anemometer tower and Suichuan meteorological station. The conclusion of this paper will provide support to wind energy resource assessment and the planning of complex wind farm.
