Abstract :
This article presents the ways to use the MATLAB/SIMULINK and Modelsim cosimulation method to both functional and timing simulate the FPGA/ASIC implementing cochlear implant speech processor with a real speech. With the convenience of such method, it can easily import the abstract energy envelop data outputted by the processor into the MATLAB and utilize the superior data processing abilities of the MATLAB to analyze and finally synthesize these data into the digital audio signals. Methods to achieve timing simulation and code coverage analysis are also developed in the paper which makes the cosimulation verification more perfectly.
