Abstract
This study aims to analyse the performance of different multilevel Z Source inverters which are powered by more than one or more input sources to be applied as a power conditioner for Photovoltaic systems. It has been proved that these discussed multilevel Z Source Inverters can overcome the solar intermittence and maintain the continuity of output supply. Also three new topologies of modified cascaded multilevel H bridge Z Source Inverters are proposed which can operate with better quality output waveform, low THD and reduced number of switches. Simple boost and space vector control schemes are adopted to control the switches and also to obtain the shoot through states. All these models are simulated in MATLAB/ SIMULINK and performance of the same are inferred.
