    • Proposed near term operation - Ground DME transponders transmit the SCP pulse - Legacy airborne DME interrogators may not be able to upload and use the SCP or any alternative pulses - Range accuracy improvement from ground to air only • Proposed long term operation - DME interrogator and transponder transmit the SCP pulse shape - Range accuracy improvement in both ways • The alternative DME/N pulse offers - More precise RNAV/RNP DME operation including APNT
