Abstract
A simulation method of radar ground clutter base on the Digital Elevation Model is proposed in this paper. In this article we adopt the method of random midpoint displacement to produces the elevation data of random terrain. Through the elevation data, the ground is split up into much geometry scattering surface unit with scattering property. The power of ground clutter in every unit can be calculated through the knowledge of analytic geometry and equation of radar. And overlap the power of every unit. Then the compute of all ground clutter will be achieved. Finally, the processing results will be shown with the OpenGL technology. A new simulation method is proposed in this article. This method combines the topographical data of Digital Elevation Model and the characteristic of ground clutter. The experimental results show that the ground clutter data can be simulated under the different conditions.
