Abstract :
We experimentally demonstrated 400-Gb/s transmission over 10-km standard single-mode using discrete multi-tone (DMT) and four 1.3-μm m local-area-network wavelength-division-multiplexed externally modulated lasers. A reasonably good system margin has been obtained. We have also investigated the fundamental limitations of using semiconductor optical amplifiers for DMT-based systems.
