Abstract :
Near Field Communication (NFC) is one of the short range wireless communication technologies based on RFID. NFC provides secure and inherent communication between electronic devices. Recently consumer electronics manufacturers, mobile phone manufacturers, network service providers and commercial service providers are attempting to apply NFC technology to smart phones and other hand held devices to enable the consumer to use commercial services more effectively and efficiently. In this paper, we are going to discuss a use case of NFC technology in Industrial Environment. We are going to deliver localization based information of a production plant. NFC tag is embedded to the process module of manufacturing plant to enable easy access of the information. NFC Technology can save time and effort, since NFC offers instant connectivity. NFC has a short range of 0-4 centimeters which is normally a drawback in some applications. However its an advantage in this application as it helps us to deliver localization based information just by simply touching the NFC tag with NFC enabled smart phone.
