Analysis and Design of Personal Health Record Management System

Japan is one of the countries where life expectancy of nation is the highest in the world. In addition to maintaining social health care system and social health insurance system, health care activity by an individual is recognized as more important. On of the obstacles which prevents the individual user from utilizing personal health record(PHR hereafter), such as health diagnosis data, is due to the undeveloped state of the interfaces or standard which enables the public to import electric PHR data into personally operated PHR platform. Since it is expected to take years before establishing practice with fully on-line PHR system, urgent implementation of PHR system is required, which is able to import printed PHR data. This paper describes current issues of personal PHR system from the point of view of data management as well as user interface, and proposes system design for personalized PHR system.
