  • Abstract
    In this paper, a one - dimensional Si/SiOL2 photonic crystals (1D-PhCs) is optimized for potential application as thermophotovoltaic (TPV) optical filter. The performance of the proposed structure, 1D eight-layer Si/SiO2 of thermophotovoltaic system, is studied. The influence of layers geometric parameters on the reflectance and spectral efficiency of the filters are studied by using the rigorous coupled-wave analysis (RCWA). The effect of the incident angles and polarization on the reflectance also was discussed. Both the original and the modified structures were prepared through a magnetron sputtering technique. The results indicated that the modified 1D PhC exhibits better performance as a selective filter at 1000-2000 K emitter temperature.
