Abstract :
A new type of phased array configuration using the vertical strip transmission line radiator was investigated in viewpoint of the scanning range and low side-lobe level. The unwanted grating lobes were successfully suppressed by using the radio-wave absorber, and thus the direction of the main-lobe can be scanned at 1.6° by a phase difference between two adjacent radiators of 10° while keeping the first side-lobe level of less than -22.5 dB and the antenna gain of larger than 13 dBi.
