Abstract
A novel hybrid implicit-explicit finite-difference time-domain (HIE-FDTD) method that is applicable to analyze structures with fine-scale discretization in one or two directions is presented. The more relaxed stability condition and dispersion relation are analytically derived. Simulation results are compared with those obtained by the existing HIE-FDTD method.
