Abstract :
We propose a novel highly nonlinear chalcogenide filled twin core photonic crystal fiber coupler (PCFC) for applications in all optical controlled devices. From the proposed coupler geometry, the necessary optical parameters namely, effective refractive index, dispersion, nonlinearity, coupling length and extinction coefficient are calculated by using the finite element method (FEM) at 1550 nm. The dynamical characteristics of the individual pulse parameters of an optical pulse propagation through the proposed design is analyzed numerically by employing split step Fourier method. And finally a transmission curve is arrived to explore the influence of high nonlinearity on the steering characteristics of the optical pulse through the proposed model.
