Abstract :
Differential frequency hopping (DFH) has been used in military communication system, because it provides both good resistance to jamming and high-speed data transmission. However, taking into account the coding gain is limited within a finite transmission bandwidth, especially multiple bits per hop, a compressed spectrum DFH (CS-DFH) system is proposed in this paper. We develop an upper bound on the bit error rate (BER) of CS-DFH system in Rayleigh fading channels, and its tightness is proved by simulations. Numerical and simulation results demonstrate that CS-DFH improves performance by improving the coding redundancy, compared with the existing DFH techniques, for the same bits per hop (BPH) and bandwidth.
