Abstract :
Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles (PHVs) generally equip a battery of high capacity. Cars such as EVs and PHVs are expected to work not only as transportation devices, but also as power storages for the houses and/or the community. This paper presents the Home Energy Management System (HEMS) using the battery of EV/PHV so as to fit the individual driver´s behavior, both departure and travel times. The proposed method can plan and control charging and discharging the car´s battery in order to minimize the electricity cost at home for one day. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated by some numerical simulation results.
