Abstract :
Network Rail aims to manage its assets sustainably, for the lowest whole-life, whole-system cost . This is achieved through asset examination, geotechnical evaluation (of asset integrity), maintenance, refurbishment and renewal, monitoring & alarms, mitigation measures including special inspections, speed restrictions . Monitoring asset performance - safety and reliability leading to continuous improvement is presented.
