Abstract :
A transparent source is implemented for investigation of its accuracy as an optimal type of source in the analysis of wideband path loss in underwater acoustic channels based on finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) scheme. By increasing the cut-off time of transparent source scheme, the exact transparent source for the underwater acoustic modal equation is implemented. The accuracy of the transparent source is verified by comparing the wideband path-loss results with famous normal mode solution, KRAKEN.
