  • Abstract
    A new airport runway extraction method is put forward. Firstly, it is utilized the fuzzy enhancement arithmetic to highlight the runway in the image; And then using canny operator for edge detection; Use mathematical morphology opening which can make some of the curved edge in the image broken down into smaller straight edge; Finally, we can obtain the runway by marking the location of the edge and calculating the edge size. The experimental result shows that the proposed method can rapidly and accurately extract the airport runway in the aerial reconnaissance image and has good reliability and applicability.
