Abstract
The aim of the research was to acquire a sculpture by Simon Benetton, present in the Campus of the University of Trieste, in order to realize the 3D model and to investigate it with a software for structural analysis to verify the stability in particular critical conditions of weather. The sculpture is based on a freeform and we decided to acquire it with a structural light scanner to obtain a detailed 3D model. Then the 3D model was processed to study the deformation, changing its position inside the Campus. This research was finalized to the definition of a procedure to apply to some other elements in the similar conditions.
