  • Abstract
    Real-time Bus Arrival Information System (BAIS) is an important application of Traveler Information Service System in Intelligent Transport System (ITS). BAIS can provide real-time bus arrival information service for the travelers, to improve public transport operation efficiency, guide the public travel mode choice, and advocate “green travel”. The article analyzes the system physical architecture and data flow of BAIS. And in the system research, the key technologies are studied deeply, including user information query methods; bus location detection technology based on Bluetooth; bus arrival time prediction model; and communication network system. Among the technologies, Bus Arrival Time Prediction Model (BATPM) is the key module of the system, which reads the current and historical data of all running buses from system database and uses fuzzy computing method to predict the accurate arrival time of the next coming bus.
