Abstract :
Epoxy resin (EP) and polyurethane (PU) were used as polymer matrix, chopped basalt fiber (BF) as reinforcement and prepared BF/EP-PU composites. And studied how different content of chopped BF influenced on the properties of BF/EP-PU composite. The results of SEM photos showed that the connection of BF and polymer matrix formed and chopped BF played a reinforcing role in BF/EP-PU composite. Mechanical properties of composites have attained to develop, shear strength reached 18.5MPa and breakdown field was 16.6kV/mm, when the chopped basalt fiber content was 3wt%.
