  • Abstract
The paper proposes an efficient algorithm for moving target ranging and velocity measuring based on Ultra-Wideband (UWB) impulse radar. Real-time detection and tracking of moving targets such as the human body and corner reflector has been achieved in the work. The method effectively reduces the data processing steps, and has greater advantages of fast processing. It also provides a theoretical basis for the realization of long-range UWB impulse radar engineering. The radar signal processing procedure consists of stationary clutter cancellation, template waveform matching and Kalman filtering-tracking. The experimental results of detecting and tracking for walking human and moving angle reflector are shown to validate the proposed algorithm.
