Abstract :
The FlexRay bus is a promising automotive standard communication system with high-speed, high-bandwidth and high robustness. In this paper, based on Flexray Version 3.0.1, it is allowed to put the signals from different nodes to a slot. Because the static segment of FlexRay is based on Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) in the static segment, the real-timing scheduling of static segment is critical for an efficient system. To save more slots for the potential addition of tasks and improve the network utilization is significant to the further development of the vehicle area. Therefore, combination bin-packing algorithm is employed to merge those messages in the slots which are not fully used, despite that those messages come from different nodes, which is to improve the bandwidth utilization and minimize the number of used-slots and balance the every slot occupied rate. Finally, with the repeat rate unlimited to 2n, through comparing the experimental results of before and after combination of simulated static scheduling and the results do decrease the number of used slot and balance occupied rate. The solution of combining the tasks before sending to the network and segmenting them after receiving from the network will be a feasible method to the constrained network.
