Abstract :
Web Service is a collection of open protocols and standards used for exchanging data among different applications or systems. The pervasive nature and advancement in mobile devices has increased the necessity to make web services into certain applications used in such devices. The major requirement for accessing web services dynamically from mobile devices is to improve the processing speed and to save the battery power. This leads to the development of a novel approach to discover and access web services from mobile devices so that user intervention is minimized. It uses search methods for entering the values as parameters to invoke the required service. This paper overcomes the technical challenges in discovering services from mobile devices by means of a proxy server. A Load Balanced proxy server plays an important role in discovering the needed services, downloading the required WSDL file for accessing Web service and using these files to build the proxy class in client side at runtime. This transfers the energy consuming task of mobile device to the proxy server. In addition to these it also overcomes the issues in bandwidth and memory management in invoking the web service. It also performs load balancing on the server to measure its scalability in handling the client requests from mobile device and saving the power in battery for service discovery and invoking process to the server.
