Abstract
In this paper, we have explained an proposal for a hydrocarbon sensor system. Here we combine different types of sensors into a single module to get an accurate reading of the presence of petroleum. A ground penetrating radar (GPR) is initially used to analyze an area. If any liquid reservoir is found then we drill into the earth at the location. The sensor is mounted on a quadrotor and sent down the hole at close proximity to the reservoir. The hydrocarbon sensor module - total organic vapour monitors, UV/IR scanner - is then used to confirm the presence of petroleum and indicate its concentration.
