Abstract :
This paper evolves a prototype to provide electricity from solar energy for 24 hours. Solar heat can be stored as molten salt and used day and night to generate electricity. Our project is based on Concentrated Solar Power where we use linear Fresnel lenses to concentrate a large area of sunlight onto a small area. Lenses fabricated from different materials under various dimensions vary in thermodynamic efficiencies as each of them will produce different peak temperature. This heat energy obtained can be either directly used in steam power plant or stored as thermal storage medium in the form of molten salt.
