  • Abstract
Growing concern over the ever-increasing energy needs prompted various research in energy conservation field. Many organizations have initiated programs to save energy technologies that would enable them to meet the demands of energy. A variety of devices and systems has been created to conserve energy. One such innovative technique in the energy sector in the areas of power transmission has been presented in this paper. The operation of the conventional relay leads to the wastage of appreciable amount of power at the times of faults. A strategy to use a semiconductor based relay to conserve high amount of energy which generally gets misled at the times of faults has been presented. The implementation also helps to safeguard the enormous amounts of energy being generated at the times of lightning and remains unused. This conserved energy can be utilized to accommodate a part of the increasing demands of power.
