Abstract :
In this paper, voice transmission is considered in visible light communication (VLC) systems. A digital voice transmission system is designed and analyzed for better quality and capacity than conventional analog voice transmission system. Commercially available white LED is used as the light source in this system, and to fit for the property of it, multi-level pulse code modulation (MPCM) is chosen as the VLC modulation method. A set of system prototype is developed by mainly using the field-programmable gate array (FPGA). Testing results of the prototype show that the system is reasonable and stable.
