Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to propose a new aggregation method using conflicting linguistic preference relations in the group evaluation process based on the equilibrium concept (i.e., both positive and negative aspects), simultaneously. Firstly, the theoretical background of the so-called `conflicting bifuzzy sets´ is briefly reviewed; afterwards the discussion focuses more on the method approaches and application procedures using linguistic labels through a modified Linguistic Geometric Averaging operator. An empirical study involving a group of decision makers is provided to show the applicability of the proposed method. Based on an empirical study, it was found that the proposed method is more comprehensible in concept and suitable for dealing with qualitative information in group decision-making processes. In addition to that, this concept approach also derives comprehensive judgments which results in a wider and more holistic evaluation perspective.
