  • Abstract
Effectiveness of teaching and learning is the core of the education sector. It is an important issue for evaluating the teaching performance to improve the effectiveness of teaching. However, the evaluators have personal subjective preference or judgment depending on their individual knowledge or experiences. It is suitable for evaluators to use linguistic variables to express their subjective opinions in the assessment process. The 2-tuple linguistic variables are used in this paper for evaluators to express their opinions. Under this situation, a transformation method will be applied to transform the non-homogeneous evaluation information into a common set of linguistic variables. Then, an evaluation model is proposed in this paper based on computing with linguistic variables to compute the degree of effectiveness of teaching from the viewpoints of students. Finally, an example is presented to illustrate the computational process of the proposed method at the end of this paper.
