Abstract :
In this paper, we establish a handover model in small cell to analyze the relationship between handover failure and ping-pong rate which is characterized as a function of relevant system parameters such as time-to-trigger (TTT), UE velocity, etc. According to the model, in order to minimize the probability of ping-pong handover, we select the optimal TTT through using traversal algorithm. Simulation results show that, adaptive scaling scheme for TTT can minimize the handover failure probability, and reduce the probability of ping-pong handover. Thus, the conflict between handover failure and ping-pong rate can be well alleviated.
