  • Abstract
    EndoTOFPET-US collaboration aims at the development of a multimodal imaging technique for endoscopic pancreas and prostate exams that combines the benefits of high resolution metabolic information from Time-Of-Flight Positron Emission Tomography and anatomical information from ultrasound. This endoscopic, Region-Of-Interest specific and asymmetric PET system calls for an application-specific high-performance Data Acquisition System able to perform distributed multi-level event triggering and to control online different detector heads. This contribution summarizes main aspects of the EndoTOFPET-US detector focusing on the parts directly related with its DAQ system. And it makes a detailed study concerning the Data Acquisition System itself, where different design considerations will be discussed and first performance measurements making use of final prototypes of the different system components will be analyzed.
