Abstract :
This paper presents a bottom up approach to simulate the transfer function of electrical power lines for narrowband power line communication. The channel is modeled as a transmission line defined by its intrinsic parameters, the characteristic impedance and the propagation constants. These parameters are derived from primary element based on the lumped-element circuit model. The proposed approach was implemented and validated on Matlab software and compared to “Pspice” model. Same transfer function is obtained in both tools with less than 0.8 dB of disparity.
