Abstract :
A new algorithm for precession parameters extraction of ballistic midcourse target is proposed based on high resolution range profile (HRRP) sequence. This algorithm aims at estimation of precession period and precession angle. To estimate the precession period, an estimation curve is extracted through weighting and calculating the HRRP sequence. Then using nonlinear curve fitting method to fit it achieves the estimated precession period. The precision is proved superior to FFT applied in [3] by simulations. In addition, the precession angle is estimated by generated Radon transform (GRT). Its advantage is that it doesn´t need to extract each position of scattering centers, and still achieves a high precision. Simulation results show that the suggested algorithm is successfully applied to the micro-features extraction for spatial cone target.
