Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel multicast routing for wireless sensor network, named Network Coding based Energy Efficient Multicast Routing (NEMR), which exploits intra-flow network coding within multicast session to improve the multicast reliability, and inter-flow network coding among multicast sessions to reduce the number of transmissions. Besides, network coding based retransmission mechanism and zero space based feedback mechanism are also presented. Extensive simulations on NS2 demonstrate that NEMR outperforms existing schemes in network lifetime and transmission efficiency, especially in case of heavy load.
