Title :
Potential for Cross-Taiwan Strait transmission system development
Abstract :
An analysis has been done in identifying potentials for developing a comprehensive transmission system that will connect Taiwan to Fujian in the Chinese Mainland, including its offshore islands of Penghu and Kinmen. The urgency to develop the system has been identified to avoid power shortage in the future in Taiwan, including all of the policy and infrastructure supports for such development. Preliminary technical details have also been proposed which expand across the Taiwan Strait. This analysis has demonstrated that the cross-Taiwan Strait transmission system development is technically and politically feasible to be done in the near future.
