Abstract :
In order to measure the fibers´ Verdet constant without the influence of the linearly birefringence in the test fiber, a system including a Faraday Rotation Mirror (FRM) is proposed and experimentally validated. The effect of the FRM is given theoretically, and the system is built to measure the single mode fiber´s Verdet constant which is 0.55±0.01rad/T/m. By experiments, the system is also demonstrated that it owns good reliability and stability.
