Abstract :
Based on the complex variable method, we analyzed the two-dimensional problems of an electrostrictive solid with two circular holes. The solid is subjected to electric field at infinity. The complex potentials of electric and electroelastic fields were first expressed by introducing series expansion with unknown coefficients. Then, using the boundary condition, we can calculate the unknown coefficients, and so all the complex potentials were derived. Numerical examples are presented to study the influence of the distance and angle between two holes on the stress distribution around the hole, and discussions are also made about the effect of the electric fields in the hole on the stress field.
