Abstract
Wireless sensor network is a collection of small tiny sensors which are resource constrained often deployed in hostile, open and unattended environment thus making them more vulnerable to various attacks. Establishing a secure communication between sensor nodes is an open and difficult issue in WSN. key management plays a very important role in establishing secure communication in this paper, we proposed an enhancement to key management scheme in heterogeneous sensor networks supporting node mobility. The basic scheme is made more resilient by applying one way hash function on secret materials stored in mobile nodes. This enhancement will make the key management scheme more resistant to node capture attack. The analysis shows that enhanced scheme is more resilient than basic scheme keeping the same network connectivity.
